Sex Feels Better When We Don’t Pretend We Know Everything

For years I thought I was supposed to already know exactly what I liked — and that my partner was supposed to magically know too.
No questions.
No adjustments.
Just confidence.

But nothing about pleasure works like that.
Everything changes: stress, hormones, mood, age.
And trying to pretend we “already know” makes everything tighter, smaller, more self-conscious.

What helped was seeing all the techniques women like from research laid out like a palate of watercolors, each with names.

And women explaining each one (and showing!) with the total openness of women helping women. And exploring together is gentler, funnier, lighter when no one’s trying to ace a test.

It gave both of us permission to be a learner instead of an expert in my body.
